AGILE OFFICE DESIGN AND FIT OUT PROJECT.

Oxford University Press chose to partner with Spectrum Workplace for a complete agile working office design and fit out project for their HR team in their Oxford head office building. They are the publisher of the world famous Oxford Dictionary and many other educational publications. Their HR team had outgrown their office space but they were aware that the utilisation of the space could be improved. Many desk positions were unoccupied on any given day and wanted to adopt an agile working design to maximise their space. They also wanted more meeting spaces, especially for smaller private meetings. In addition they wanted to improve the collaboration within the team. The project included a complete design and fit out of the office and creating an agile working environment.

THE RIGHT PARTNER FOR AN AGILE OFFICE DESIGN PROJECT.

Oxford University Press were looking for a company who they could work with.

Lorna Bevan, HR Director, said "It was really important for us working with Spectrum Workplace, to work with a team who would be able to work with us right the way through the project. What was most important was that they helped us define exactly what we needed from the start. Not just in terms of design, but making sure it worked functionally as well. We worked really closely with Spectrum Workplace right from the start. Crucially, we spent a lot of time talking about what we needed and how people actually worked, the kind of tasks that they do, the amount of time they spend in the office and what they need. All of those things were incorporated into the design."

The Group HR Director said "The reason we went with Spectrum Workplace was that we had a real feel that we would work in partnership with them. The feeling with Spectrum Workplace was that they understood our needs and they also were able to respond to our needs as our plans changed. They recognised that we were working to a very tight budget but were still able to deliver without compromising on quality."

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

What was the outcome for the client of carrying out the design and fit out of their new agile working office space in Oxford?

“The feedback from staff has been absolutely, fantastically positive. It’s a totally different space - it’s light, it’s bright, it’s modern. You’re not anchored to your desk, you can sit in, you know, various locations from the seats, to the bleachers, to the booths. There’s great meeting spaces always available - which was a real problem in the past. And the benefit for the whole team is we’re now integrated.”

“The overall collaboration with Spectrum Workplace has been very, very positive, you  know, from the beginning of the project through to the very end. And we moved in on time and on budget. Which I always think on projects is a bit of a stretch sometimes but not this time with Spectrum Workplace.”
