WAREHOUSE RACKING SOLUTIONS
There are many different warehouse racking options available but the most common solution is pallet racking. However the choice of which racking system is best for your business is still complex. This is because there are many different pallet racking solutions for each situation. You can have wide aisle, standard aisle and narrow aisle pallet racking systems. You can also get high density systems like drive-in racking and live pallet racking and even mobile pallet racking. The correct solution will obviously depend on your own particular situation. It will depend on size and shape of your warehouse, the type of products to be stored. Also how they are received and shipped, where are loading bays are positioned and many other factors.
ADJUSTABLE PALLET RACKING
There are many different pallet racking systems and the best solution may be different in every case. You can have wide aisle, standard aisle and narrow aisle pallet racking systems. The standard adjustable systems still can very a lot in quality, in particular you need to be wary of cheap imported options. The standard pallet racking system we recommend is a premium German made product for maximum safety and reliability. It is also important to remember the safety measures that should be fitted such as mesh decks and impact protection.
ROLLER PALLET RACKING SYSTEMS.
Roller systems are available in two main types – either push-back or live. Both systems work using a series of rollers that allow pallets to roll smoothly to the picking face of the racking. A push-back system enables you to load pallets in from one racking face and pallets are pushed back as you load new ones. However a live system allows you to load pallets at the back and pick from the front. This, obviously, is better if you require stock rotation or separation from your loading and picking areas.
WAREHOUSE DESIGN AND PLANNING.
Our full warehouse design service starts with an initial consultation to discover exactly what you need to achieve. It will also cover what are the crucial elements of your warehouse operation.
Next we plan an optimal flow and layout of the warehouse. In addition we identify the necessary safety measures that will need to be included. We can prepare alternative plans using different racking solutions to demonstrate the possible capacity options.
Our offering provides a complete end-to-end service. Ultimately it takes an empty warehouse to a carefully designed and fully fitted out warehouse.
RACKING INSPECTIONS & RACKING REPAIRS.
It is very important to carry out regular racking checks and audits. In particular you should have a racking inspection done either every year or every six months by a SEMA approved racking inspector. This racking inspections will pick up any damage that may have weakened racking beams or uprights. Potentially they could save lives and prevent management receiving a jail sentence!
We also offer advice on all warehouse health and safety issues. In addition we can assist with developing safe methods of work and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
