Spectrum Workplace delivered a 13,500 sq ft workplace transformation for Gen II Fund Services, creating a modern, flexible office designed to enhance collaboration, communication and overall employee experience. The project transformed the existing space to improve connectivity between teams, while carefully balancing open-plan working with private offices and quiet focus areas. A calm, professional material palette and improved spatial flow contribute to a more comfortable, intuitive and usable environment throughout the day. The finished office supports productivity, wellbeing and long-term adaptability, providing a future-ready workplace aligned with the organisation’s growth and evolving needs.

From the outset, the design approach focused on how people actually use the space day to day. The layout was reimagined to create a more open and fluid environment, encouraging natural movement and interaction between teams. This helps break down traditional departmental separation and supports a more joined-up way of working, which is increasingly important within modern financial services operations.
At the same time, the design carefully balances openness with privacy. The workplace brings together open-plan workstations, enclosed offices and informal collaboration areas, giving employees flexibility in how they work depending on the task. This layered approach ensures the environment supports both focused concentration and active collaboration without compromise.
A strong emphasis was placed on creating a calm, professional and welcoming atmosphere that reflects the nature of Gen II Fund Services’ business. A refined material palette, improved spatial flow and considered detailing combine to create a workplace that feels composed and efficient, while also enhancing comfort and wellbeing throughout the day. The result is a workplace that feels intuitive to navigate, visually consistent and supportive of a range of working styles.
Throughout the project, employee experience remained central. The design supports different ways of working, ensuring people have access to spaces that suit both collaborative tasks and individual focus. Rather than prescribing a single way of working, the environment allows employees to choose how they engage with the space, reducing friction in the working day and making the office easier and more enjoyable to use.
Acoustic control and spatial clarity were also key considerations. Careful attention was given to separating busier collaborative zones from quieter working areas, ensuring the environment remains comfortable and functional throughout the day. This balance helps support productivity while also contributing to a more positive and less distracting workplace experience.
Sustainability and longevity were important drivers throughout the design process. Durable materials and practical, low-maintenance finishes were selected to ensure the workplace performs well over time. The layout has also been designed with flexibility in mind, allowing the space to adapt as the business evolves and working patterns continue to change.
The project was delivered through a carefully managed programme, with close coordination, clear communication and strong sequencing to ensure efficiency throughout. Collaboration between Spectrum Workplace and the client team was consistent and constructive, ensuring decisions were made quickly and the quality of delivery remained high from start to finish.
Despite the complexity of delivering a full workplace transformation, the project was completed smoothly, with a strong focus on programme control, detail and execution. The result is a workplace that feels cohesive, considered and aligned with the organisation’s long-term needs.
The completed office now provides Gen II Fund Services with a future-ready workplace that supports productivity, strengthens collaboration and reflects the professionalism and ambition of the organisation. It is a space designed not only to meet current operational requirements, but to evolve alongside the business as it continues to grow.
Overall, the project demonstrates how thoughtful workplace design can enhance both performance and employee experience within the financial services sector. By combining clarity, flexibility and quality of environment, the scheme delivers a workplace that is both functional and refined—one that genuinely supports the people who use it every day.
