Spectrum Workplace delivered a full building transformation for RoyaleLife’s headquarters, featuring luxury client lounges, premium wellbeing facilities, an executive suite and bar, alongside a fully refurbished façade and landscaping.
Ben Smith, Marketing Director – RoyaleLife
From the outset, the design approach focused on shaping a workplace that employees can feel proud of, while significantly enhancing the experience for visiting clients and stakeholders. The new internal layout introduces a balanced mix of open-plan work areas, private offices and meeting spaces, enabling teams to work flexibly while also providing high-quality, well-presented environments for client engagement, collaboration and day-to-day operations.
A strong emphasis was placed on creating a premium, experience-led workplace. A boardroom with privacy switch glass and motorised blackout blinds provides complete control for confidential meetings and presentations. A luxury client entertainment and bar space introduces a high-end hospitality feel, supporting client hosting and informal engagement. A concealed “secret” meeting room adds a bespoke, memorable design feature that enhances the sense of discovery within the workplace.
Employee wellbeing was also a key driver in the brief. A dedicated staff gym supports health and welfare, complemented by a large breakout space designed for relaxation, informal collaboration and social interaction throughout the day. Premium TopBrewer coffee machines were installed with integrated remote ordering functionality, reinforcing a seamless and modern workplace experience.
A strong emphasis was placed on quality, cohesion and craftsmanship throughout. Extensive porcelain finishes and bespoke detailing are used across the interior, including a refurbished lift installation featuring laser-etched porcelain tiles that create a highly refined focal point within the building.
The project also included a full mechanical and electrical upgrade, ensuring the building performs to a modern standard of efficiency, reliability and comfort. Lighting throughout is controlled via daylight sensors, maximising natural light usage and reducing energy consumption while maintaining a consistent, high-quality ambience.
At the heart of the building, a dramatic three-storey feature staircase forms a striking architectural centrepiece. New balustrades, a full-height split-face tiled wall and luxury hanging pendant lighting running through all three floors create a strong vertical connection and a powerful sense of arrival and movement through the space.
Externally, the building envelope was comprehensively upgraded through a new entrance and façade, window refurbishments, roof works and landscaping. These works significantly improved both the building’s appearance and long-term durability, while strengthening the arrival experience. The refreshed exterior provides a stronger architectural presence, supported by landscaped areas that enhance setting and first impressions.
This external transformation works in direct harmony with the interior refurbishment, ensuring a seamless and consistent experience from arrival through to internal journey. Together, these interventions reposition the headquarters as a modern, confident and highly experiential workplace environment.
Client experience was a guiding principle throughout the design and delivery process. Arrival points, meeting spaces and key visitor routes were carefully considered to reflect the professionalism and ambition of the business, ensuring the workplace actively enhances how Royale Life presents itself to clients and partners.
Collaboration was central to the success of the project. Working closely with the RoyaleLife Leadership team, Spectrum Workplace developed a design that aligned with operational needs, brand identity and long-term aspirations, ensuring a cohesive and highly tailored outcome.
Delivered over an extensive 12-month programme, the project required close coordination and clear communication throughout the shell and core transformation and external works. Despite the complexity of the scope, the result is a seamless delivery of a fully redefined headquarters that feels cohesive, considered and impactful.
Overall, the RoyaleLife project demonstrates how a combined internal and external transformation can unlock the full potential of a building, creating a headquarters that elevates experience, strengthens brand identity and delivers a truly premium workplace environment.
