Spectrum Workplace delivered a workplace transformation for RiskFirst (now Moody’s Analytics). Our team created a dynamic and collaborative headquarters that reflects the innovation, technical expertise and forward-thinking culture of a leading financial technology business.
Patrick Brogan, Senior Designer – Spectrum Workplace
RiskFirst needed a collaborative and future-focused headquarters for its team at London’s Aldgate Tower. Spectrum Workplace delivered a workplace transformation that reflected the company’s innovation, technical expertise and fast-moving culture. The business, now part of Moody’s Analytics, operated at the intersection of technology, analytics and financial services. Its new workplace needed to support focused work, informal collaboration, client meetings and long-term growth. Based on the 14th floor of Aldgate Tower, the completed headquarters gives RiskFirst a modern and flexible environment. It supports employee experience, strengthens workplace culture and creates a strong first impression for visitors.
At a time when many organisations within the financial and professional services sectors were still operating from traditional office environments, RiskFirst wanted to create a workplace that better reflected modern working practices and the expectations of a highly skilled workforce. The ambition was to move beyond conventional office design and deliver a space that prioritised collaboration, flexibility and employee experience, while maintaining the professionalism expected within the financial technology sector.
From the outset, the design strategy focused on creating a workplace that encouraged interaction and knowledge sharing across teams. The layout was carefully planned to balance focused working environments, formal meeting spaces and informal collaboration areas. This enabled employees to move easily between different modes of work throughout the day. That flexibility was particularly important for a business driven by technical expertise, where concentration and teamwork both play a critical role in day-to-day operations.
A key focus of the project was enhancing workplace culture and employee engagement. Breakout and collaborative environments were introduced throughout the office, creating opportunities for informal interaction, cross-departmental communication and social connection. These spaces help break down traditional workplace barriers. They encourage a more open and connected culture, while also supporting employee wellbeing and satisfaction.
Feature furniture and workplace settings were carefully integrated to support a diverse range of activities and working styles. Distinctive collaboration pods, informal meeting areas and flexible touchdown spaces gave employees greater choice and autonomy throughout the working day.
These environments not only improved functionality, but also contributed to the unique identity and character of the workplace. The office furniture choices played an important role in supporting both the practical use of the space and the overall design language. The design language reflected the innovative nature of the business, combining contemporary finishes with bold accents and carefully considered detailing. A modern material palette was selected to create a professional yet energetic environment.
The result is a workplace that balances the expectations of a financial services business with the creativity and agility associated with the technology sector. It feels sophisticated, engaging and representative of RiskFirst’s culture and values.
Employee wellbeing shaped the project from the early stages. The design gives people access to different types of space, so they can choose the right setting for the task. Breakout areas support informal conversations and restorative pauses. Meeting rooms provide structure for focused discussions. Open work areas support visibility and everyday collaboration. Together, these spaces help create a more connected workplace culture. They also support comfort, productivity and staff satisfaction throughout the day.
Coordinating the RiskFirst project with care
The project required detailed coordination with the client team, building systems and site stakeholders. Spectrum managed these requirements carefully to keep the programme moving safely and efficiently. Working with the building BMS system required a coordinated shutdown between tenants. This needed clear planning, strong communication and close control of critical building services integration. Our technical coordination and engineering team helped test the design against buildability and building requirements. Meanwhile, our construction and project delivery team maintained quality, sequencing and attention to detail on site.
A future-focused headquarters for RiskFirst
The completed headquarters gives RiskFirst a workplace that supports innovation, culture and long-term performance. It balances professionalism with creativity, which was essential for a business working across technology and financial services. The office now gives employees reasons to connect, collaborate and feel part of the wider organisation. It also provides a strong client-facing environment that reflects the company’s expertise and ambition. Overall, the project shows how thoughtful workplace transformation can modernise a traditionally corporate environment. It also demonstrates how design can support talent attraction, employee wellbeing and business growth.
